Weekly Presidents Update
Club news you can use…Weekly updates.

With John away on leave and this week’s “weather event” it has still been quite a busy time at the club with Josh’s student Nicole McKenzie achieving 100% on her Radio Exam!  and also passing her Pre Solo Exam.
Well done Nicole, A great effort.

We have also had the pleasure of hosting three work experience students, Teamika, Kade, and Liam from Coolum State High School.
The students were able to experience a visit up to the Tower which is always exciting even when the weather is not so favorable,  and a sit-in on an ATPL Navigation class at AFT, whose newly renovated facilities for training are looking fantastic.  A visit and tour of the Flight Options Pilot Training Acadamy were next on the list, thank you Bec and Mikki for the tour, They were fortunate to be given the opportunity to sit in the Citation Mustang 510 simulator before heading out airside in one of the cars for a tour.
Liam experienced a day at Pacific Crown Helicopters with  Cassie and Gavin, (Teamika and Kade are there today) Garry at the Queensland Air Museum Caloundra gave the students a  hands-on day out at the Museum on Wednesday which although was wet and windy was still a great experience for the 3 of them.
Some further adventures await on Friday …….stay tuned for next week’s edition of the newsletter.
Next week we also welcome JJ (Sea Eagles Member) for his week of work experience.

Sunshine Coast Airport News:
SCA set an all-time record for passenger numbers in April, with over 155,000 passengers using the airport over the month.  This beat the previous record set in 2019 by nearly 30,000 passengers.  SCA management would like to thank all partners and airport users for their support when both airside and landside were extremely busy!  Next highlights will be in July when Air New Zealand services return from Auckland, and we are also getting close to announcing the launch date for Bonza ticket sales and first flights.
